In-School Presentations and Delivery Options from In the Mind of the Young

In addition to the Year 6 Next Phase Ready Transition Programme, I also offer in-school presentations covering a wide range of material for students in Key Stages 2-5.

Content varies and is differentiated to suit the audience and the bespoke needs of the students. The key content is not set in stone and I am always happy to mix ‘n’ match where appropriate.

The core element of the In the Mind of the Young content offer is focused on developing effective learning & behavioural habits that improve progress and attainment in a revision or examination setting.

  • Me, Myself & I (KS3-5)

Me, Myself & I consists of a journey through a variety of factors that can contribute to our academic success and holistic development. Me, Myself & I explores the importance of creating positive habits and challenges students to think how a growth mindset can contribute to improved academic buoyancy and levels of resilience.

  • Memory Magic (KS4&5)

Memory Magic focuses on enabling students to understand the manner in which our brain, encodes, stores and retrieves information. We use practical examples to highlight how the process of acquiring, retaining and retrieving information can be applied in educational settings such as the classroom or study space.

  • Exam Attack (KS4&5)

Exam Attack looks at the processes involved with navigating our way through a GCSE or A Level exam series. This can vary from setting up our revision timetable to the way in which we behave in the exam hall. We also discuss managing stress levels, how exam papers are created and some tips to help gain those valuable extra marks.

  • Key Stage 2 & 3 Package

The Key Stage 2&3 Package consists of six sessions aimed at students in Years 5-9 plus the Year 6 specific Transition Time session for the summer term 2025. Content varies throughout and schools are welcome to choose the amount of sessions they require and the material that interests them most, much of which can be interleaved.

  • Transition Time (Year 6 Only)

This one-off session will be replaced by the NPR digital and presentation programme in September 2025. For those schools booked in for May-July 2025, we will focus on the educational, social, technological, mindset, independence and practical challenges of transitioning from Key Stage 2 to 3 and beyond.
